Re: Browser Cache

Good idea. I'll try this also.
However - I am curious how does not affect the site speed score in regards to "leverage browser cache"?

Re: Web designer recommendations?

We should keep this list updated as web designers want to add their name to the list. Perhaps add their website address next to their name? I can think of a name or two to be added. Perhaps separate the designers from the developers (templates / extensions / custom code etc.) from the seo specialist...

Re: Hiding page name following site URL

Ok. I was also given this code to put in the htaccess file: RewriteEngine On RewriteBase / RewriteRule ^/about/ /about.html Redirect 301 /about.html /about/ Seems everyone (each "generator") has a different way to accomplishing this. Thoughts on the best way? Also, if I am using redirects from nonww...

BaconFries - Request permission to add a question (or rephrase the existing question) Here is a link I found - https://www.rapidtables.com/web/tools/redirect-generator.html. Thoughts on it's accuracy? For a permanent 301 redirect solution on a Linux platform with GoDaddy, which is a better solution...

Re: Redesign of my existing site

Is there anyway to optimizes the images in both size and compression? IE - if the image is 4000+px wide, I think you can get away with it being a bit smaller and them compress it before uploading it. Site speed is really slow according to GT Metrix as well as Google Page Speed. Otherwise, looks real...

Mail Engine in the Contact Form

If I may, I have heard of some hosts having issues sending emails via a php contact form to a generic email address such as gmail, Hotmail, etc. However, if one changes the mail engine via the "advanced" button at the bottom of the general tab and under the "mail engine" tab (change to smtp) it seem...

Re: Imbedding a Device Friendly Video

If I may, I think another upside to YouTube, other than the obvious that the very heavy video is hosted on YouTube servers (reduces weight on your own server right?, is that YouTube can also be thought of as another social media channel for seo purposes. Pop in your keywords and it is possible for t...

Re: [rz] Inner Border

I haven't had time to look into it seriously but I've often wanted to find an easy way to add an inner shadow to an image (standalone, slideshow, rollover text, or inside a layer) as opposed to a drop shadow. Not sure if its reasonable with todays UX and design standards but I've always liked the lo...

Full Width Background

1 of my all time favorite 3rd party WB11 extension is by RZ - "Full Size Proportional Background image". I often place it either in a master frame as a full screen background or inside a layer either as a full-width proportionately cropped or fixed width proportionately cropped image. However, I am ...

Re: Peek user testing

I've been a little quiet so yes I am trying to get my 1/2 star back on the rating. :D Trying to do what I can. I've tested quite a few different pieces of software and WB11 is still by far my favorite. No question. As for the catch with Peek user testing, I believe there is a link in there somewhere...

Earlier someone had posted a question about "what font did you use". Since the question as not posed to me I did not want to hijack the thread and answer it BUT I did think I'd post a way to find out for future reference - What Font Bookmarklet - http://code.stephenmorley.org/articles/whats-that-fon...

Re: For your responsive site designs

Another link on device resolution stats - http://www.w3schools.com/browsers/browsers_display.asp. My monitor is 1600x800 (20") & traditionally I use 1260, 1024, 768, 480, 320. I think I may add 1900 to the list for that next size up monitor - but I still like the wider gutters. 50-100px. Wierds me o...
