Re: Do I have "Idiot" written on my forehead?

Obviously this was a scam. 2 things bother me though:
1 - it seemed legit until he hit me with the overpayment and send the balance to the other guy
2 - how dumb do I look?

Do I have "Idiot" written on my forehead?

Got an email (not from anyone on this forum - I hope). Not a direct quote but the jist of it is as follows.... "I want you to build for me a website. I want it to look like this. And I want you to include in your price cost of hosting." After I sent him the quote (not including hosting but...

Re: Layout Grids

My initial reaction to the layout grid was a cringe at the lack of control, BUT, even though the control is not pixel perfect, you can make it pretty close on a breakpoint basis. I do steer away from CSS grid and FlexBox so I can still try to support IE10 (I know, why). Looking forward to getting ca...

Layout Grids

Made a "simple" update to a client's site today (added a YouTube video), but the site was built several years ago - back before the use of "layout grids" (web design jargon I know). I gotta tell ya, it was like making an overseas call using a rotary phone, or building a house usi...

Global Replace

Is there currently a option for global replace for all breakpoints? I rarely have to use it (rebrand / color change) but would be useful if when the site is done, and the client has a new logo / colors, quick and easy color change for all pages / all breakpoints. Or would once per breakpoint for all...

Any captcha that relies on Google account to be in tact, I stay away from 3rd party stuff. I simply use the recaptcha with the numbers and digits - old school. Another way to do it I guess would simply be to ask a question with a definitive answer - assuming bots cannot guess what the field is suppo...

Re: 3rd party forms

I always use Wb own forms, but I have a possible client who has a series of 3rd party forms where the form is filled out and they are automatically added to a drip email marketing campaign. Seems kinda nifty. Just wanting to see if what he wants to use will continue to work in a WB website.

Also, opinion on checkboxes in advanced / misc:

Best settings for the contact form to ensure seamless stability: Form name? Action = default used with “use built-in PHP form processor script” ? Accept charset – UTF-8 or can I leave blank? Agreed - a good option in the meantime. Just know however that the htaccess file to implement a 301 redirect from http to https will be slightly different if an ssl is obtained through Cloudflare or the host directly. And when you do so, don't forget about Google Analytics and Google Webmaster Tools.
