Signup Form

Post by flyrc » Sun Feb 19, 2017 2:49 am

I noticed that after someone fills out the form it sends them a confirmation which includes their password. It also sends the password to the person who checks the Signups. Is there a way not to have it send the password back to the user only to the person who checks the Signups. The signup data is going in to a MySQL database and works great.

There is no standard solution for that, you will have to modify the script for this yourself:
Right click the signup form and select 'Convert to form', then you will have full control over the code.

I really don't know code well enough yet and that is why I like using WB. Would it be ok to remove the 2 lines in the .php file that is generated when you haven't turned it in to a standard form that start with $message and then reference password. If it is ok I'm assuming the password will go into the database but will not be sent to anyone.

I think that if you remove these two lines then it will no longer include the password:

Code: Select all

      $message .= "\r\nPassword: ";
      $message .= $newpassword;
Make sure you do not change anything else.

Ok I'll give it a try. As long as the password still goes in to the database that will be fine.

Thanks

Are there any restrictions as to the password users can use when using the Signup Form.

Yes, the password may only contain alphanumeric, numeric characters and + !$_@.
Of course you can also modify this in the code if needed.

I"m assuming the user name needs to be one word with alpha or numeric or both not two words?

The username needs to be one word. Spaces are not allowed.

I may have missed this information on the allowed characters in the Help section of the login form tool and in the printed user's guide. If I can make a suggestion, if it isn't already there, maybe add it so it is easier to find.
