form that is feeded with data from database

Post by info@wawasoft.com » Fri Apr 27, 2018 5:52 pm

Hi,

I'm looking for solution how to reslove three issues with regards to forms:

1. How to modify signup and login forms to eliminate username and use email address as an id used for log on?
2. How to make chosen fields mandatory to fill?
3. How to create form that will collect data from user and allow him to update/change it later (exactly this record)?
It means, when user log in than will see the form filled with data extracted from MysQL database and will be able to change it

These problems araised when solving the following scenario:
a) user signup
b) user ticks several boxes standing for approval of certain things
c) user can login anytime to retrieve his approvals and update/change them

1. Right click the form and select 'Convert to form' to convert the login form into a standard form, then you can modify the layout and code (at your own risk).
2. Convert to a standard form and then use form validation.
3. This will require programming.
But you can also check out these extensions

(provided "AS IS")

Hi Pablo,

It would be very easy to use an option 'Convert to Form' but it is not possible in case of Admin.
When I right click then there is no option 'Convert to Form', so my question is still valid:

How to modify Admin into PHP+HTML code that is permanent and will not be changed after publishing?

Sorry, you cannot edit the admin script directly.
However, after editing the script, you can replace the Login Admin with an inline frame which points to the updated file.

I was too enthusiastic.

If I edit Login Admin and point out to updated file (i.e. loginadmin1.php) then it will be overwritten during publishing with standard parameters.

...or I missed something

After you have made the changes, you will need to remove the login admin object from your project. Then the modified file will no longer be overwritten.
