Hi chattd yes this is because the extension uses its own css styling for text, color, font etc when you install the extension it places this in your html so any other tex,t fon,t color gets overiding  this is my fault I should have written how this is carried out using other html code. I will be fixing this sometime later today and repost a update of the extension in the first posting.....

It is possible to use as you asked all you need to do is in place of inserting the file direct into the extension you can use a url instead you will need to write it somthing like this

Hello Bacon,

Nice extension. One question however

in the extension index you speak of version 2.02

when i download the extension and install it i see in the installed extension list in wb657 version 2.01

Description of the Properties
Text
Edit the text to suit what you need example View PDF File
Font
Change the Font type to suit what font you are already using or use another form the list
Color
Choose what color of font you wish to use this may be the same as the color you are aleady
using on page.
Size
Choose a font size to display the text you used to display the Text.
Outlines

I do not have these options in version 2.0.1 to change the colors see image

Image

I just contacted me.prosenjeet he still had version 2.0.0 in which you still can change the colors.
Image

What happend with the versions?

Morning Neo...As you will probally know when WB 6.5 first came out it was discovered that nearly all user made extensions maybe didnt load or display or were not W3C compatible so we were asked to rebuild with EXt Builder 2.0.2 which was done but there was a small clitch in 6.5 that didnt read the Ext Builder version correctly and still saw it made with 2.01 this is now fixed. Now if memory serves me correctly the version of the extension you refeer to used some css to allow you to set the text color, size as you needed, this was found to cause any other text that you used on page to get the same settings ie if you set the font size in extension to say 16 the page text got set to 16 even though you had set to 12...so I decided to remove this. If you still want the text version I have just completed a new version with image and text and can upload to the usual place...

Morning Bacon.... Okay i can live with that. however the text as typed in in version 2.01 is not any more visible in the browser.

As i understand it clear: Now i have to add my own text by a text control beside the icon?

The whole misunderstanding came because of the help pdf which was included in version 2.01

I forgot: Thanks for the lightning fast answers again !!!

Morning Bacon,

I have a other problem with the control. De default hight is to big. If I use a icon let's say 16 by 16 as a trigger to open the pdf the control itself remains much bigger because of the default pdf icon You use.

This way i can not put one or more extension close to each other, because one is overlapping the other and therefor cannot be clicked upon.

even in the old control with the text the default hight is 50. This way it is to big to put them nicely together.

Hi Bacon, Good morning

My question was...

How do i get the version 65 icons closer together? So the none text support version of this extension. They also have a default width of i guess 80 px??

More data to make it clearer what the problem is.

In The version in which you display the acrobat logo in design mode they cannot be place close together in design mode.

I have a 16 by 16 picture and i want them to be vertically alligned (closely together). Due to the big acrobat logo in design mode i have to place them apart very much otherwise they cannot be clicked upon in preview mode.

Hope my english makes it clear what i mean.

Morning Neo...Ok the problem with the non text version just using a image is that it still has a height, width of 50x50 so trying to use a image smaller than that you get the overlap....what I would do is this try using the image/text version and do somthing like this you should now be able to use a smaller image for display without it overlaping...if you still have a problem you know were I to get me ...

As mentioned earlier, I am still having issues with this extension.

It never opens my pdf documents the way it is supposed to.

I have foxit pdf reader installed on my system and this always makes me to download the file before opening/reading hence the purpose of the extension is being defeated.
Demo : http://mg.lucknowwebs.com/5/rules.html

screenshot:

Image

However, a point to note if I view the page in local publish, the pdf does open in the way this extension intends it to open (without download/save/view option)

I dont use Adobe reader because of its bloated size, does this work online only with adobe? Thats a handicap in that case as we don't know which pdf reader is installed in the website visitors system

There must be a issue somewhere with the pdf or your version of foxit I have just checked the link you supplied and it opened the pdf with Foxit Reader 3.2.1.0401 so this shows that the extension is working online as it is showing the content of the pdf as you can see in the screenshot below
so if it opens with here ok then the extension is working so there may be a issue with foxit or the pdf...all I can suggest is that you please check both foxit and the pdf and then let me know.....

Need help here, need to know what I am doing wrong.
My WWB edition is 7.6.1, Highslide PDF viewer extension is the latest update for WWB 7.
I havent used this pdf extension before, as I had no need to.

Went as per the pdf and the user interface.
The preview shows the pdf png icon and my altered tooltip.
A window slides out with the outlines I have changed to, and also to my altered width and length.

But no pdf seen. The window is blank.

The pdf file has been automatically gathered by the asset manager to go in the page folder and can be seen there.
Can I know what I may be missing on?

Just discovered what I was doing wrong: the file displays perfectly when the site is published, even if it is to a local folder; but not in a preview.
Sorry that I should have seen this option.

The extension has been made for sharing IThas been available to download for over two years on "Mediafire" I have decided now to only use the "Extension Manager" for sharing.... you can download from the "Extension Manager" in WB7, it is available for registered members only that are using WB7 and higher... If you have a copy of the latest verion of WYSIWYG Web Builder then yuo will be able to download and use

Just tested in IE67//8 and Firefox 6.0.2 / Safari 5.1 /Opera 11.51/ Chrome 13.0.782.22.m and it seems to be working for me...the highslide window opens and displays the pdf/s that I have tried it with... If your trying to preview in WB please ensure that you have not ticked the check box in Tools>Options>Miscellaneous>Preview>Disable IE security warning during preview as this will block it from displaying the PDF as you are required to give it permission....for FF please check tha you are not blocking javascript from running as this will also block it ...

Not directly with the extension, it would require changing how the extension works by adding a hover class css to the image or in this case two images.

The extension has been removed from use for the time being due to a compatibility issue. Please note that if the extension is made available from any other source other than myself I offer no support for it.

Hello, Yes this is true for IE9. Have you fixed this problem yet?

Thank you.
