Any extension for achieving this ?

Copy pasting text from one web site into various Social Media forums is quite common. I am giving here a link where, when you copy and paste a text into another place, it automatically brings with it the URL of the web page too. As an example, I am copy pasting a small portion of the text below:

The Interior Ministry said that at about 8 p.m. Sunday, two minivans entered the town. Militants disembarked and began shooting. Kenya’s National Disaster Operations Center said military surveillance planes were launched shortly afterward.
Read more at http://allenbwest.com/2014/06/im-sick-l ... 4vwSIE5.99

I had copied the text only up to "shortly afterward." The page link with the preceding "Read more at " has appeared by itself.
Any idea on how this happens?

Social Media :
Do we have an extension that adds the following:

Facebook
Twitter
Linkedin
Google +
Pinterest

In the Indian situation, other players are yet to matter.
If no extension, any way these can be added?
Thanks in anticipation.

A great source for astonishing Galleries/Slideshows

Hi Guys,
When surfing the Internet I've come across a website offering various galleries (open source code to be developed/used) that can be transformed into amazing extensions with differ transitions/options. I'm not an experienced coder and I thought someone could use it in their project. I hope the category of a post is suitable as all the extensions are here.

One may have known already this website :) But what these Guys make is truly impressive.

Wow...that is an impressive slider.

Would love to build an extension for that but no time. Maybe Pablo can do some magic and bundle it with 10?

Help chat for website. This is in the Open Source world but I can't implement it for some reason and the documentation is poor. I think this is just a matter of adapting and implementing an existing Open Source script. Creates a live chat support system for websites. The Scripts exist in Softaculous. There are a lot of great scripts there that could be adapted to WWB with a great benefit to users. Crafty Syntax offers an online live help system.

HTML & Java / PHP based Web Quizes/Polls section in WB10

Posted: Tue Sep 23, 2014 10:13 am
by tommy888
It would be extremely useful to have a quiz/pooll section added to the WB10 where a member could create an interactive quiz for their websites. As mobile devices (most of them) no loger support flash, java and html quizes are now most approprite for a website to have a wide spectrum of viewers. There are some free java & HTML quizes script available (True or False, Multiple Choice, Multiple select, Multiple Match, Essay, Fill in the word/phrase). I believe it would be a great asset in the latest WB10. Similarly polls, questionnaires could be made. It will encourage more students/teachers to buy such a complete supurb Web Creation Tool as WB :)

Hi,

Would it be possible to do an extension for a responsive menu, similar to the types included in Arti****, that starts off as horizontal and then breaks into a responsive vertical (preferable with ability to add sub menus, break points, different stylings, borders and as many other parameters as possible).

here is a sample:
http://responsive-nav.com/demo-respondjs/#
http://responsivemobilemenu.com/demo/

I have been looking at 3rd party software but they seem tricky to implement such as they cannot be seen in the wysiwyg design stage, I am talking here of such products as cof*****, css3menu etc.

Yes it is possible. But there are restrictions to what can and cannot be used...to be able to use any script as a extension it must be free to use, it requires in some cases that the original author grants the use and if so it may require a link back to them or that any copyright within the script remains intact or any watermark it may also have cannot be removed.

We can also not use Commercial (Paid scripts such as Code Canyon) scripts that require a licence to use, we also cannot just scrape code from other sites page or use code generated by Commercial programs (CSS3Menu, Blumentals etc) that generate menus due to iicence and copyrights.

You can of course use external menu generating programs youself and bring into rthe program by using the HTML Object and the File Publisher object but again these are for your use only....

Re: SUGGEST FOR EXTENSION DEVELOPMENT "Responsive menus"

Posted: Mon Dec 01, 2014 10:29 am
by TrevH
Hi,

My idea of perfection would be a killer extension for making fully customizable css responsive menus (including sub menus) that can have the break point be set manually to collapse from a horizontal menu into a single drop down menu (hamburger style with adjustable button width and icon placement) and that is ideally always on top of all other layers even when pulled in from a master page (as the panel menu is able to).

The best examples of versatility and variety in menu design and styling I saw was in Arti***** where every menu can look and work fantastically well regardless of it's type, placement, styling or design. But also, to go one better, why not also allow buttons with sub menus to open the sub menus accordion style, to reveal the sub menus pushed below instead than opening offset to the side.

I think this would be a really fantastic feature for WYSIWYG software which is imho so far ahead of everything else out there except on the responsive menu design.... Could you please consider it? :D

SEO, Keywords, page content analysis tools.

Hi,

To improve workflow why not be able to select some page text, right click and have an add to pop up menu option of being able to "add to metatag description" or add to "keywords" so that the selected text is then copied into the relevant section of the page properties meta tags box.

On the subject of seo, it may be out of the program's remit as a web design software, but how about an idea to include some kind of built in text analysis & keyword tools within the page properties section... such as something similar to the page weight idea but that analyzes the text content on a page and then calculates which words (and 2,3,4 word phrases) are showing up with the highest density % (as those would actually be seen as keywords by search engines excluding common stop words etc). Also something similar to the existing page errors section but that offers built in suggestions that can enhance pagerank or spot things that would negatively affect seo. I know there are tools and sites out there that do all this, but wouldn't some kind of built in seo analysis / development tools / extensions be great to quickly spot potential seo improvements/errors?

:)

If I could vote on this, I would vote no.
I would suggest that we want the WWB developers to stick with their core competency - generating websites. SEO is a moving target and would constantly pull developers away from CC. SEO is a black art and most "SEO Experts" aren't. Finally, SEO for your sites may be a different target than mine.

There's already plenty of third-party SEO tools available.

Hi stevemann, I did say it may be out of the program's remit as a web design software, as I realise what you say is quite valid regarding concentrating on core web design competency... I am not looking for anything that detracts from designing.

Perhaps I gave the wrong impression regarding explaining my use of it for SEO...

So I'll rephrase it, I suppose I am asking for flexible a word / phrase count text tool that hopefully can calculate or compare the % of times a word / phrase appears on a page within text excluding common stop words. To me this is just as useful a text spell checker is, and also a right click menu to then add text or phrases directly from the page (or the word count tool) straight into relevant meta tag sections as one works to improve work flow.
