You have not typed the "Listings per page" value so the script can't see how many listings it should display. Also, ther eis no Table height plus some other settings are missing.

Complete the settings so it can work.

Ha ok, thx very much. I put 10 in the "Listings per page" and it works.
But it was not tell in the pdf doc that those settings were mandatory. Maybe in a next version, can you put some more default values ?

Thx again for your very great work !

Hello Navaldesign.
Thanks for the work you do to provide extensions and help WB users.
I'm having a problem getting the DBTS CSV Manager to work. I have created a form with WB6 that seems to working properly and adding records to formdata.csv.

I've brought the created CSV back to my computer and verified that there are records in the file.
The form is at http://www.sagegolf.org/application.php

Now I've tried to get your CSV Manager to list the records on a page at
http://www.sagegolf.org/list.php
I've carefully read your documentation several times and tried to correctly configure the CSV Manager but keep getting the error message
"No records found in this file!"

Your help solving my problem will be very much appreciated.
Thanks in advance.

Did you set a number of Results per Page ?

If left blank, it defaults to 0, so it says "No records found"

Yes, I have a value added for number of results per page. I've tried several different values. Here are the rest of the settings.

But, your separator is not chr(380) it is ","

Please change it and test again.

Thanks. It seems to be working now.
You might want to review the language in your documentation where it says:
5. Separator: The separator used in your file. The extension allows for four
different separators: “;”, “,”, chr(02) “ ” and chr(380) “ |”.

The WB6 Login system file and the csv created by the WB6 form processor
both use |, the guestbook uses chr(02) “ ” . The DBTS Form Processor

extension uses the Excel type csv separator “;”.

I took it from this that since I had created the datafile with the WB6 form processor that the separator was chr(380).

Thank you again for the work you did to create this great extension.

Good morning George

I wonder if you could help with your extension please as I can't see the wood for the trees in what I am doing wrong.

I have a file on my server called introd.csv

This data in this file is from a form using your other (excellent) form processing extension.

All the forms says is:

Name
Tel
Email
Company

... and I wish to display those parameters in the CSV file.

I drag and drop the DBS CSV extension onto the page, set the page to php.

CSV filepath is introd.csv, separator is ; - first line labels "yes" other parameters are blank apart from the preselected ones (eg Ascending etc)

I upload but I don't get a nicely formated table, nor do I get the parameters from the form - eg Name, tel etc. I get other things like IP address, stamp, submission date etc. I have tried using the columns to include, and have set, separating with commas, 1,2,3,4 - but still no properly formated table.

Also, I can't edit or delete the records.

Sorry if I have misunderstood something simple - I just can't work this one out.

Your guidance is appreciated and very welcome.

Thank you

Darren

Hi Darren,

I would need to see your settings, your file, and the published page.

If you don't wish to make them public, you can email me the necessary info.

Though the "edit" link seems correct, it takes me to the folder index page, so I can't actually see anything.

Is the "editalgob.php" page published ? If yes, why this redirect ?

Ok, now I can see the page. However, I can't know what the content of the configuration file could be, as this is part of the hidden (php) code

I would need to have access to your account to find out.

Just looking at the source of edit.php and the stray tags are still there:

</style> <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="csvmanager_includes/css_1.css"></script></head>

Also in edit.php, the trailing semi colon still exists:

$display .= '<td align="left" valign="middle" width="500"; class="csv_values">'.$values[$labels[$columns[$i]]].'</td>
</tr>';

on the width attribute.

That closing style tag on the left shouldn't exist at all and the closing script tag on the right shouldn't exist.
I believe all this is fixed in the current version.

On the main view page the closing head tag is still chopped?
Not sure what you mean.

There is one other problem in addition to the 3 or 4 little things I noted earlier.

For Page Protection, if you use the single page protect on the "edit" page, both the page protection and your code are reacting on a submission based on

if ($_SERVER['REQUEST_METHOD'] == "POST")

so if you land on the page, type in the password, it just zips through the entire script and goes to the success page and you never see the content.
But there is such a hidden field that controls the script behavior, both in the Edit and the Delete objects.

Are you downloading from my website (which is not updated) or through the extension manager ?

Current versions are 2.4.0.1 but are only loaded on the WYSIWYG Extensions Database: http://extensions.wysiwygwebbuilder.com/

Or, directly, through the WB7 extension manager.

And, I have tested them thoroughly with WB7 this is why I don't understand it. Even the code you mentioned actually is:

if ($_SERVER['REQUEST_METHOD'] == "POST" and $_POST['formid'] == "csveditform") {

So I suppose that you are downloading from my site, which only has the old versions.

In the new versions (List object) I have also enabled the "Parse as Image", "Parse as Email" and "Parse as Hypwerlink" features that were disabled in the previous version.

Not sure why you have issues downloading, but pls follow these steps:

1. in WB enter the extension Manager. Uninstall all 4 extensions.
2. Click on Available and allow WB to retrieve the lates versions.
3. Click on the Forms category, and they should appear.
4. Install through the extension manager, directly from the site

Then Close Down WB and Start it again. Check to see.

I can't even see the css stylesheets in your page code!

There is definately something wrong, though I can't know why.

Can you please post the page code (as it appears on the WB Page HTML) ?

The extension ads stylesheets to the List page itself. I don't see it in your page.

Furthermore, the extension ads code in the "Between Head" tag of the page, so there is ABSOLUTELY NO REASON why the extension would break the </head> tag. I wouldn't be able to do it even if I wanted to!

Ok, here is what I believe you have done:

You have "cut" the stylesheets code from the WB page and you have pasted them in the ballots.css file (though I don't understand why)

Here is the css code as I have retrieved it from your site:

Code: Select all

div#container
{
   width: 920px;
   position: relative;
   margin-top: 0px;
   margin-left: auto;

Doing this, you have also "cut" the </ part of the head closing tag.

The you uploaded the rest of the code manually on the website.

I'm sorry to say but you have changed the page code yourself :? and you have misled me to search for issues with the script :(

What you are saying is impossible.

WB creates css global files only from the styles you create within WB itself, not from css styles that are added by extensions. It doesn't even "see" it at all!

Unless you have added other code, on your own, that causes an issue with WB .

The page code should be:

Code: Select all

</style>
</head>

etc............
The part that starts with <style.....
.csv_table
{

etc, is added by the extension, WB doesn't even "see" it in order to remove it and add it in the css file!

If you have not modified it yourself, I suggest that you publish again the page, ALL FILES and see if maybe there was a conflict with the broken extension code that you had installed previously.

The other pages retrieve the css file that the extension creates itself. You can see it in this line:

<link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css" href="csvmanager_includes/css_1.css">

The list page instead, which is the "core" of the extension, SHOULD have the css code added in the page itself as I posted above.

The broken </head> tag causes the text "head>" to appear in your page.

-Generate external CSS style sheets for page specific styles
-Generate single CSS style sheet for global styles

Should not be both checked as this is meaningless! I usually use the second.

Of course it is available:
1. Through the Extensions site (category forms)
2. Through the Extensions Manager of Wb (forms category)
3. Through my site http://www.dbtechnosystems.com/wb6/DBTS_CSV_Manager/

This last one resulted in 404 due to a mistake of mine, sorry and thanks for letting me know.

You can use the same form that you used to create the CSV. Or build one if the CSV was built in Excel. The form can be processed either the built in form processor or the DBTS Form Processor.
This is the reason why there is no "Add" object.

Extension updated.

What’s new:

1. Added ability for images and hyperlinks in the “View” object
2. Added ability to “Double quote” records. This allows you to use multiline
records or HTML code in the records.
3. Added ability to use the separator (in example semicolon or coma) in the
records content
4. Added ability to restrict page access using the WWB Login script tools or the
Single Page Protect tool.
5. Added ability to restrict user access to their records only.
6. Code improvements.

Fixes:
Fixed default sorting issue.

You can update through the Extension Manager or downloading the extensions from my site and manually installing them.

Hello,
using the CSV List I want to display an image in column 4 but I cant seem to get the image to display only the text of the data.

I enter in 'Parse as image columns' the number 4
Then in the CSV file what data do I need? the full URL (ie http://www.webpage.com/images/image.jpg) or just from the root (ie images/image.jpg)

for example the CSV file might contain this line-
Fred,Green,shoes,images/fred.jpg

so then in the 4th column of the list table the image file fred.jpg would be displayed?

what am I doing wrong?

also what image file formats work? will it work with a png file?

Many thanks
John

You must use the full URL: http://domainname.com/images/image.jpg

The script isn't at all interested in the type of image, it simply ads the necessar <img .... > tags so the browser will display it as image. So it supports whatever image type the browser supports.

Do you have the latest version of the extension ? Where can I see your pages ?

Hello George,
I've been having a play and found out the problem....

I was trying to get the image in the last column - column 4

But....

The first column is numbered 0 not 1
so the 4th column is numbered 3!

so I changed the number in 'Parse as Image columns' to 3 and it worked!

so now its all sorted

thanks for your quick responce!

dont know if this will be possible or not

Many thanks

I'm afraid thi is currently only possible by manually editing the code on the file on the server.

I think I had a similar problem (but I can't find the thread) and I seem to remember it was something to do with the "Columns to Include" and the "Column Labels" parameters. I could be mistaken but try filling in these parameters and see what happens. Worth a try

you could see if you can get it working with a very basic csv file first, like....

Name;Age
Tom;12
Bill;10
Frank:14

use notepad to make it.

and start from there.
if that works then take a look at your original csv file and work out whats wrong with it.

You can use any form you like.

Thank you for pointing out the issue with my page, probably a corrupted file on the server. I will investigate and fix it.

This is the "List" extension. Click on the icons to see the View, Edit, Delete pages (with respective extensions).

When I use DBTS CSV List I can get a .csv file to show, but I can't get a .xls file to show.
Does it work with .xls? If so, what am I doing wrong? I tried each of the Separators.

Hello Navaldesign,

I'm using the CSV list extension to display a list of Names, addresses and websites. I really need to get the hyperlink to open in a second browser tab. I've tried to add "<a title="Webpage" target="_blank" href="http://www.website.com">website.com</a> This shows 2 links of which one does open the link in another tab. But there's a few codes that appear still before the link. Is there a way to get only the website hyperlink to appear in that cell?

Instead of entering simply "mauritius360.com" in the column parsed as hyperlink, I've entered "<a title="WEBSITE" target="_blank" href="http://www.mauritius360.com">WEBSITE</a>". The rendered data in the page csv table shows as"WEBSITE" class="csv_link">WEBSITE".

The second WEBSITE text opens the link in a second tab correctly. I just need to omit "WEBSITE" class="csv link"> from the rendered part. Any idea how to do this?

I've just gave a try to this code in view of getting the link to open in another tab as compared to the default functionality of the csv list extension where all hyperlinks open in the same browser tab.

The only way to acheive what you want is to modify the page code AFTER you have published, from

$data_array[$i] = '<a href="http://www.'.$data_array[$i].'" class="csv_link">'.$data_array[$i].'</a>';

to

$data_array[$i] = '<a href="http://www.'.$data_array[$i].'" class="csv_link" target="_blank">'.$data_array[$i].'</a>';
