Thesaurus (Free) WWB8.2+

Post by Adendum »

Thesaurus is the simplest way to create intelligent and nested advertisements, tool tips for glossary items, news description or interactive references.

Uses jQuery and PHP. Your pages do not need to be .php but your server must support PHP - check with your hosting company if you are not sure. The 'database' is held in a simple CSV file, making this extension accessible to everyone. The only manual effort you are required to make, besides setting up the extension properties, is to select which text blocks you require the Thesaurus to work with. This requires you to right click each text block to add a small piece of HTML code into the Inside Tag of the text objects you are using.

This is not a complicated extension to set up but it is important to fully read the help file and study the demo page to get a good understanding of this extension.

A big thank you goes out to the original author for his permission and assistance in creating this extension and an equally big mention and thank you to both [RZ] and Jordan who had a significant contribution in ironing out several issues prior to the release.

It's primary use is likely to be as a glossary addition to any technical website HOWEVER if you think out of the box this extension can be used for many other things such as text advertisements, emphasis of key words or phrases and the ability to have nested tool tips will open up many more opportunities.

Let's see how can come up with the most interesting use!!!!!

Have fun! :)

1. I see it when I look in http://extensions.wysiwygwebbuilder.com/ under Miscellaneous
2. I see it in Extension Manager, also under Miscellaneous

You wont see it listed if it is already installed.

Maybe you already installed it?

If it's installed it wont show in the Extension Manager list of available extension - it will only show up in your installed extensions list.
