Bookmark - Layout Grid and PageHeader

Post by Ganapati » Sat Nov 12, 2016 10:25 pm

Hi Pablo,

I've got a problem with Bookmark with LayoutGrid and PageHeader.

I made a simple project with a PageHeader (and a text menu), some LayourGrid and a Bookmark.

When i try to go to bookmark either with the menu, or with javascript (via onclick) i never go to the correct position.

I would like to scroll to the beginning og the yellow grid (where i put the text bookmark). But the real bookmark is under the pageheader. It works only if i enable the SmoothScrool and put an offset on the bookmark and use a menu.

I need to go the bookmark after clicking on a button.

But if i would like to go to Bookmark1 via a ButtonClick is doesn't work !

Also i manually give the URL \index#bookmark1 doesn't work !

Any suggestion ?

here is a link of the very minimal test project

Thanks

Hi, I haven't checked your project but a LayoutGrid is a bookmark in itself (no separate bookmark is needed), see LayoutGrid->Properties->Bookmark and there's an Offset to fine-tune the placement.

Already tested.... is the same, in the demo project there are two button calling Bookmark or layoutgrid.

The result are the same..

The bookmark(grid) offset work only if you call it from a menu. if you call it from a button event (only with javascript, because link don't support go to bookmark) or even if you call manually the url with the #Bookmark1 tag it will position at the wrong place !!!

Events works different than anchors, events are controlled by JavaScript, anchors use HTML.

But if i paste the url with the #Bookmark1 at the end also doesn't work and this is pure HTML no events at all !!!

Please the ID of the object as anchor, not a separate bookmark.
Also note that you have a fixed header, so it will always cover the object if there is no offset.
The browser will jump position the object at the top of the page, it does not take the header into account.
If you use scroll animations then JavaScript will be used and the offset can added. This is not possible with standard anchors.

Thanks Pablo,

i've solved putting a trasparent layer on the rightside of the page and placing the bookmark on that layer. So i can position correctly the bookmark to suit my needs.

Everithing seems to work correctly..
