Master Objects - Curious Question

Post by tshoda » Tue Jan 23, 2018 5:15 pm

Hi

I've created a master object and I've deliberately inserted the master object twice on the same page. As a result, an error message appears stating:

"This page contains multiple objects with the same ID..."

When I preview the page on different web browsers, it looks and works perfectly fine.

Thus, my question is, can I ignore this message, or is this bad practice and therefore could create potential issues in the future?

Thank you in advance.

You cannot use the same master page twice on the same page.
This will cause a conflict because multiple objects will have the same ID. This result in invalid HTML code.
Each object needs a unique ID otherwise the browser cannot 'address' it, so scripts may not work or styling may not be applied.
