You cannot select a file from disk, but you can specify an absolute URL to a HTML5 video as background. A file that is already on the server.

... :D :D ...nearly there, it's working, thanks... however the video is not filling the entire background of the Layer Grid... I have a two black margins on the left and right side...

Unfortunately, this is how HTML5 video works. There is no 'cover' option.

Many thanks Gents for you support however nothing works...
I have several Layout Grids with Background mode set on Video. I've provided the complete file link (C:\Video\Movie1.mp4) and the video plays normally, automatically after page is being loaded... except the video is not in full size... right+left black margin or top+bottom sometimes...

The whole charm and effect gone now, S***T!!

You cannot use a link to a video on your local disk, this will not work when your website is online.

- upload the video to your website
- configure an absolute link in the background properties. For example: http://www.yourwebsite.com/video.mp4

FINALLY! Solved for the Chrome thanks to BaconFries.
I've applied the following code in CSS:

#indexLayoutGrid1-video video
{
min-width: 100%;
min-height: 100%;
width: auto;
height: auto%;
position: absolute;
top: 50%;
left: 50%;
transform: translate(-50%,-50%);
pointer-events: none;
}

...AND EVERYTHING WORKS PERFECTLY!!

Once again, many thanks BaconFries!!

Hello Pablo,

Am I following it correctly?? Did Google changed something in the browser source code or it's the WYSIWYG?? The videos linked to YouTUBE play automatically now when opening the browser??

If you are using WWB 14.0.5 then background videos will be muted.

I'm not convinced that the thread has dealt with the matter in hand accurately.

If you go to this page: https://wysiwygwebbuilder.com/support/w ... deobg.html it is true that the 'video' needs to be started by clicking on the start button. So the argument that Chrome prevents films embedded in WWB from starting has some support.

However, if you go to to the W**d***s site using Chrome at http://www.tomrossfilm.co.uk/ you'll see that the muted version of the film auto starts and the audio version is only started when the start button is clicked. This flies in the face of the argument that Chrome does not permit videos to auto start because the same version of Chrome is used for both URLs.

So how do we get a video whose link is embedded in WWB to autostart using chrome?

Peter
