Help with Layout Grid

Post by jrd440 » Mon Jun 11, 2018 5:39 am

I'm using a layout grid as a header on my page and I have it set as Position Fixed and not floating. As I add another layout grid below it I have to have the padding on top more than 200 or it will not show correctly with the added layout grid. I have the newest build WB 14. Am I doing something wrong? Thank you for any help.

You are not doing anything wrong. This is expected behavior.
Fixed elements will not push down other (floating) elements on the page.

Just so I understand you correctly, if I have a fixed layout grid and add anything below the fixed layout grid I have to take the top padding on the second item and add extreme padding to the second item below the fixed layout grid to have the second item to work correctly.

Correct! This is how HTML fixed works.
A fixed element does not affect the layout.

and add extreme padding to the second item below the fixed layout grid
No, you will only have to add margin to the first item after the fixed element.

Thank you, but how do I add a margin to the second item? I'm adding another layout grid right under the first one that is fixed and let's say I'm adding a photo gallery how would I add a margin? I have tried a floating layer but again I have to make it over 250 pixels tall to work correctly.

You can add margin via the 'Margin' property. It is available in the Arrange tools, context menu and property inspector.
