parallax

Post by burglar » Sat Jul 14, 2018 1:36 pm

hello,

i am using the parallax feature twice on a homepage and i am finding that the speed is too fast. im on v14. any easy way to slow this down other than the advanced user method on the website?

also, i am finding that the image is starting too far up leaving little room for travel if you see what i mean?

Cheers

B

Sorry, the only way to change the speed is through the method documented in the tutorial.

Could you give me a bit more info on how to add a site variable?

Many thanks

Menu -> Page -> Site Properties -> user defined variables .
See also the information in the help (F1).

Thank you,

I have added A variable name: $PARALLAX_SPEED$ Value: 0.1 and it has had no impact on the speed. I have also tried Value: 0.0 to see if no scrolling effect occurred and it is the same as the default speed. this is in preview.

Maybe you've made an error in the name or value?

It should look like this:

What is the URL of your page?
I assume you are using the built-in parallax?

One possible reason why it is not working is due to two different versions of jQuery. Now not sure but did you add the responsive menu yourself? as this is using a different jquery from that generated by WB, so there will be a conflict. For testing only, remove the menu and see if works, and if yes then you will know why and the have to try removing the reference of menus jQuery to see if it still works with the generated by WB.

Then this may or will be the issue, as this extension uses a older version of jQuery than that generated by WB. As suggested remove the extension temporarily and test page again just using all jQuery by WB if it works then you have your answer.

Note as the extension is third party only they can fix/resolve issues with the version of jQuery used.

that's a shame because it took me a long time to find a menu i was happy with. I will test it tonight and see. what menu extension is the closest to the one I have currently?

Many thanks
