Responsive blog

Post by janez72 » Thu Oct 18, 2018 10:03 am

Hi,

I have a blog inside layout grid.
The blog height is always fixed, cannot it be flexible, responsive?

If you are referring to the PHP Blog extension then sorry it is not responsive, it was developed and released before RWD became the norm. As a workaround you can insert the blog page into a iframe then place in a Layout Grid

No, not the php.
Just the plain Blog.

The height of layout grid doesn't adjust to blog's height.

The built-in blog is responsive/flexible. By default, the height is the sum of all articles, but if you enable the scrolbars then you can set the height manually.

Yes, the default should be sum of all articles.
But it's not. The height is just the one, I set manually.
Blog is not responding to it's data.
Tried all possible combinations. Within and outside a layout grid.

Did you preview/publish the page?

I assume that you are using the latest update?

I previewed it, can't publish, until it's ok.
Yes, latest update.
I checked blog's .html - it has the blog height fixed (190px in my case).

To be able to help you I need to see what you have done.
What is the URL?
or where can I download the project file?

It looks like you are using pagination, in that case the blog will have a fixed height.
To make the blog fully responsive it please use the default settings.

Pagination removed, nothing happened.
All values are now default.

The blog is not inside a layout grid, so then it's not flexible.

Yeah, it's working.
But only in layout grid, items per page set to 0 and with carousel set to OFF.
I wanted to have it in 1 slide per page mode and in carousel.

The blog is only responsive when it's inside a Layout grid otherwise it will be fixed (absolute positioned).
If you enable pagination or the carousel then the behavior of the blog is controlled by a script.
