No index.html on the server (error 404)

Post by sommerpierre » Sat Nov 10, 2018 3:20 pm

Hello,

my host-provider (domainunion.de) ask me to clear all datas before loading the new page on the server. Now, after loading the page I receive the error message 404 (no index.html available).

On the server I only found (only) about 50 data sheets they all begin with a number. There is no datasheet with a texttitel.

Perhaps the Log can help to find my Probleme:

Maybe you have accidentally removed the folder ''httpdocs' from the server?

Are you sure your FTP settings are correct?

The latter seems to be logical

"Not connected to an FTP server. The connection was previously lost, or it was never established"

Check your FTP settings and make sure you have full connectivity to the server, if and once connected, as Pablo as already mentioned, make sure in the root of the server, you still have an httpdocs folder available to upload to.

Hello,

the FTP-Settings are correct and the httpdocs-Folder exist.

I tried now to load the page only with ftp and not sftp: It works instantly without problems.

Mmmmhhh, is it not recommended to use the possibility most certain?

Maybe sftp requires different settings?
