Responsive Menu

Post by 44MLB » Mon Nov 12, 2018 11:17 pm

Hi,

I have added a responsive menu on this website http://www.ramsgatelifeboat.org.uk/test/index.html which was created via the Synchronize with Site Manager option. If you use it, you will see it works at first but then it changes the correct url to the pages, adding an extra element, which leads it to not finding the pages.

Maybe you have added the menu to a master page?
In that case the master page should be in the same folder as the page that is using it.

Hi Pablo,

The menu is in a master frame and it is in the main folder but obviously cant also be in all the sub folders as well. See the file layout in the enclosed image. Image

You cannot use the master page (with navigation) if it is in a different folder.
The links are relative to the master page's location, so they will not be valid in another folder.

So does that mean that there is no way to use a drop down menu (with sub menus) in a master page, if it is synchronize with Site Manager?

You can use menu in a master page as long as it is in the same folder,. If the master page is in a different folder then the links will not be valid. The links are only valid in the same folder.

Hi Pablo,

So no way to produce this test site http://www.ramsgatelifeboat.org.uk/test/index.html using a master page, with a menu synchronized with the Site Manager, is that correct?

Hi Pablo,

I think I have now fixed it by putting a copy of the main master page into every folder.

Note that it's normal that links do not work if you are referring to a master page in another folder.
If there is one master page then there is one menu which is the same for all pages. The links can not be different for different pages. So, they are only valid for one folder.
