Click to open an image

Post by Lasa » Mon Dec 03, 2018 1:59 am

If I have an button style image (A). I want it when clicked to open a large image (B).
I go into image LINK, link to "file", find the file (B) in filename.
As target I use open in light box. Press setting. If I leave (default) the large image i chose opens in a light box... but, if I try to open in fancy box... it opened the button image (A) instead of the larger chosen image (B)? same for all the other lightbox settings...
all settings beside (default) open the button image (A) instead of the larger image (B)?
I'm missing or doing something wrong?

Cheers,
Lasa

Thanks for the link.
But, my question is more about my understanding why what i'm doing works with default and not with the other light box settings?

Each (third party) lightbox works differently. They all have their own behavior/settings.

The issue isn't that they act differently, the light box parts are working as expected, the issue is that they are showing the wrong image in the light box.
All but the default is showing the image from the "general tab" (clicked image), instead of the image the "link tab".

I made a sample of two images. Both are set to the same images but the first one is set to (default) and the second set to slimbox. You click the caipirihas.jpg image and the worldwide.jpg image should appear in the light box:

[code}<div id="wb_Image1" style="position:absolute;left:90px;top:100px;width:258px;height:138px;z-index:0;">
<a href="javascript:displaylightbox('./images/worldwide.jpg',{})" target="_self"><img src="images/caipirinhas.jpg" id="Image1" alt=""></a></div>
<div id="wb_Image2" style="position:absolute;left:480px;top:100px;width:255px;height:138px;z-index:1;">
<a href="images/caipirinhas.jpg" data-rel="lightbox-slimbox" target="_self" title="fffff"><img src="images/caipirinhas.jpg" id="Image2" alt=""></a></div>[/code]

If you notice in the second light box the caipirinhas.jpg appears in both the <a href="images/caipirinhas.jpg" ... and the <img src="images/caipirinhas.jpg"...

This error appears when I use any setting beside the (default) setting... slimbox, fancybox, prettyPhoto etc.

It looks like you are using to different methods of adding a lightbox (global vs local).
The local lightbox (default) can be set in the page properties. This uses the linked image.

The global lightbox (used by multiple images) is select in the lightbox properties of the image. This uses the original image.

Ok, I think I'm understanding the difference. Thanks!
Now how come the local lightbox (set in page properties / misc) doesn't show all the different light box packages I've installed?
It only shows: fancybox, megnificpopup and prettyPhoto?
Maybe I installed the others to the wrong folder? Which folder to they go in to show in the local method?

Lightboxes must be installed in the 'lightbox' folder in program files.

Not all lightboxes do support this functionality.
