Using the same Blog object in multiple pages

Post by alex4orly »

I tried using it through an iFrame on each page with the Blog object beeing on its own page with the iFrame reffering to it, it seems however that this is NOT the right way to go about it....

Please teach me how?

Cheers

Did you consider using an embedded page?

Hello,

The structure is Master Frame, header and footer and in between a place holder, all the site pages go into the place holder object.
So, not clear - where does an embedded page fit into this?

An "Embedded page" object can be used to reuse objects from another page. So, if you place the blog on a separate page then you can reuse it in multiple pages.
This may not work in a master frames, but you can try.

In my case, say I plug the object into its own page, where in the project I will insert it
Each page has a layout grid, with two columns
In the left column, is an iFrame where the content is loaded into
In the right column is my BLOG object, which is what I want to embed in ALL the site pages. At the moment, I just plugged it (the blog) into each page.... silly way to go about it
So, any ideas? Here is the site : http://www.beleuramyhome.org.au/updir/home.html
Thanks

1. Create a new page
2. Add a layout grid, one column
3. Add the blog to the layout grid
4. Use this page as embedded page

Hello again,
I followed the steps in the tutorial, it works, almost...
Please have a look here - http://www.beleuramyhome.org.au/updir/homenew.html
All seems OK, but if you view it on a desktop and try reducing the width of the browser to mimic a tablet in portrait, the RHS column of the Grid, slides underneth as expected and is aligned LEFT, not in the center as I specified in the grid object.

What can I do about that?
Thanks

It is difficulty to see what you settings are based o the HTML code.
But it may be related to conflicting settings in the nested grids.

Must be difficult, after increasing the width of the blog object page to 650px, it looks almost OK.
Now, if I want to use this frame
one page with a layout grid, in the RHS, I embed the blog object page
In the LHS column of the grid I want to load each time another content page throgh the menu - This will save a lot of duplicate pages.
In the LHS column I have an iFrame
I want to be able to load the same page from the menu - but, each time pass into the iFrame another content page, can that be done somehow?

I'm sorry, but it is not clear what you are trying to do.
How is this related to the blog?
