Wysiwyg website plus hosted shop website & Google

Post by adrian5750 »

HI Folks

I've been spending a bit of time & effort trying to sort out my listings in Google..

I've switched from an http:// site to an https:// site, and ironed out the slight confusions that caused with redirections to my simplified mobile site.

As well as the WB-built website https://www.inspired-glass.com , I also have a hosted web-shop at https://shop.inspired-glass.com/ - there are links to this shop site from my 'main' website.
However - these links don't appear in my sitemap.xml - (presumably as WB14 see them as 'external' links?) - so Google doesn't seem to be picking up on them.

How do people handle this?
Is it necessary to 'feed' Google the webshop url and get it to spider it (which I think would mean having a separate set of Google analyses for the webshop) - or is there another way?

Thanks
Adrian

The site map generated by WWB only contains page that are part of the project.
If you want to include external pages then you will need to use a different tool to create the site map.

Thanks Pablo for the swift reply

I was afraid you were going to say that! <grin>

I guess making a sitemap 'by hand' (by taking the WB14 one and editing) and uploading it wouldn't be the end of the world - looks to have a fairly simple format.
I'd just have to remember to include any new WB14 pages that I create..

Thanks
Adrian
