Upgrading WB - 32 or 64?

Post by ColinM »

Hi Pablo, BC and All,
Finally getting around to updating my version of WB!
What's the significance of 32 bit vs 64 bit and how do I tell which 'bit' version I currently have?
Yours truly

Hi Colin

One of the biggest differences is the total amount of ram you can use (project wise). The 32-bit is limited to 2gb no matter how much ram you have installed, where as the 64-bit is more or less unlimited (per project).

To tell what version you have if looking at the title or about and you don't see 64-bit mentioned then... your are using the 32-bit.

I've been using the 64-bit version for a long time now with no problems.
When I started using the 64-bit version I always installed both versions.
I kept a backup of all 32-bit .wbs files just in case.
But I always installed the 32-bit first then the 64-bit.
This way ensures that the 64-bit version will be used if you start WWB by double-clicking the .wbs file (instead of from the desktop icon).
