Bullets in text

Post by bob@axelhouse.com »

I am attempting to use bullets in text and I copied text from a MS word document into a text box and then highlighted the text to add bullets, everything looked great and was much easier to use than tho older bullet process, but when I tried to preview the page WYSISYG crashed and I lost everything I did. I was trying this on a website with several pages, so I thought there might be some kind of conflict with other things, so I created a new website with nothing present and copied the text and turned it into bullets and the single page crashed.

Wow.

Best thing to do is save the one page site, check it still crashes and if it does, post it somewhere that Pablo can find it on the web.

Copying text directly from Word is not recommended because then the text will contain invalid formatting which will break the HTML code.
Please do all formatting in the editor itself.

Pablo, I agree - but your program still should not crash.

The text editor is standard Windows functionality, I have no control over the what happens if you use it incorrectly.

Ah, so it's not you that translates the text into html. OK - then I guess we need to take care.

For me, if I get anything out of Word, I normally put it into notepad first, then copy & paste it into a text box and add my own bullets.

Cheers for the explanation.

That is the correct way to get rid of the formatting.
Or else simply hold 'SHIFT' while pasting the text.
