no line spacing at responsive fonts

Post by derprinter » Thu Oct 20, 2016 10:51 am

When i enable Responsive Fonts in texts and define line spacing, the space is shown in WWW but not in the browser.

It would be nice if one could see the defined line spacing.

When using line spacing with RWD it will not work, this is because the line spacing is applied to each line individually.
Please see the following FAQ:

You can apply line-spacing in responsive text with styles:

Is it possible that styles in texts are not working correctly in LayoutGrids?
1st text alignment is defined 'centered' but in the preview and the published page texts are always left.
I've defined 2 different styles for 2 breakpoints but the last selected style is always used in the other breakpoint .
Responsive Fonts are disabled!
It's unclear how to select text styles. I can select styles in the menu (but it will not be accepted), in the Object Properties of texts and for the selected text. The last is apparently working but with the errors above.

It is possible that the grid column alignment will overwrite the style.

To use responsive styles (defined i the style manager) you will need to uncheck 'responsive fonts' in the text object.

All is defined 'centered'.
And as I wrote Responsive Fonts are disabled!

- responsive fonts should be disabled
- the text style should be applied to the characters

Note that without seeing your project it is very difficult to help you. I need to see what you have done.

So

The site is printundplot.net.
I made a mistake. I didn't disable Responsive Fonts in a text (after 'Leinwandbilder') and the result is alignment to the left. All settings are 'centered'. But curious is, that the font size in the style is overwritten by the local setting. E.g. at breakpoint 360.

But there is another problem:
The last selected style in one breakpoint is automatically set in the other breakpoints:
For the default breakpoint I have the style text1

Image

and for the breakpoint 360 I select style text360

Image

Image

when I go back to the default breakpoint, it looks like style text360

Image

and there is defined text360

Image

I change it to style Text1

Image

and now I have text1 in breakpoint 360 too.
And so on ...
Image

What's wrong?

I do not understand the logic of using styles. I can define a style in the object properties of a text element. But this has no affect. And I can define different styles to selected characters.

Nothing is wrong.
An object or text can only have one style (= class). In HTML you cannot assign a different class in a breakpoints.
However you can modify the style properties for breakpoints.
So for example, in the same style/class you can have different font sizes in breakpoints. There is no need to create a different style for that.

O.k.
But I'm sorry, it's not working.

This are the settings
for default breakpoint

Image

and breakpoint 360

Image

All is centered and I think it's o.k..
This is the preview for default

Image

and 360

Image

and this is the browser for 360 and on the smartphone with a wrong textsize

Please understand that each browser will render text differently and also the font used may not be supported by the smart phone browser so it's default font will be used to display the text. Note this is nothing to do with WWB but just how browsers work.

Yes, I know that browser render text differently.
But the preview and the finished site are opened with the same browser (Firefox) on the same machine. And on other machines with IE it looks just the same. And the on the smartphone it looks even with the right font.
But this cannot be the reason for the wrong alignment.
