Best Gallery for RWD

Post by ghines » Tue Dec 27, 2016 5:48 am

Hi all,

I'm after an image gallery that will work correctly in an RWD website. I like the look of PrettyPhoto with it's thumbnail images and navigation, but at low resolutions like 320-480 the large image is too small and at various other resolutions the large image is cut off on the RHS. I've tried all the LightBox gallery types in WB11 and none of them work at all the various resolutions.

What is everyone out there using that works well?

TIA

Greg

Did you also try Magnific Popup?

Or the extra lightboxes?

Thanks Pablo. Had already tried Magnific Popup and although it did work at the various resolutions I did not like how it presented. Tired Mobile Touch Gallery in the free extras and really like it, also works well on Mobiles. However, it does not seem to work when there are more then one gallery per pages, although that is one of it's advertised features. Any ideas?

Thanks again,

Greg

Hi Greg,

Not exactly elegant, but you could use multiple photo galleries.

Say one for Breakpoints down to 768 (Tablet Portrait), one for 768 and another for Mobile 320. It means have multiple occurrences of images but it means you can ensure the images don't run of the view port.

Hi Colin,

My problem is I have multiple galleries on the **same** page and apparently Mobile Photo Gallery does not like this. I like this product as it is both desktop and mobile friendly allowing you to swipe thru the gallery on a mobile.

Thanks,

Greg

Most of the lightbox scripts were not designed to be used multiple times on the same page.
Note that these are all third party scripts.
If you do not like the script I have made available then you can also create your own lightbox script. Checkout the 'lightbox' sub folder to see how I have integrated the scripts into WWB.
