Help with mobile website creation

Post by jimmycheeko » Wed Dec 28, 2016 8:01 pm

Hello,

I designed 2 websites with the same data. The first one is at http://www.inductiontooling.com and was designed with w**fpre**. I want this websites mobile version to look this way.

The second website I made is at http://www.jimmytechtv.com and I designed it with WYSIWYG web builder. I want this look of the website to be my "desktop version" and the above website at http://www.inductiontooling.com to be my mobile version.

Can I use WYSIWYG web builder 11 to make a mobile version that looks just like the one at http://www.inductiontooling.com ? hope I explained that the best way. I tried going into, create a new mobile page on WYSIWYG but then when I uploaded the new website it doesn't show that mobile page on my phone so I must be doing something wrong.

Anyways, main goal is to take the first link, achieve that mobile style on the second link. hoping it's possible.

Thanks a bunch in advance. I'm new to the whole mobile website creation

Hi
You must use a tool for redirect visitors from the original desktop site... I use the "Page Redirect" extension. Works great. Just implement it to your original index page and put in credentials for the redirect...

To make your website created with WYSIWYG Web Builder 'mobile friendly' you can add breakpoints, so the layout adapts to different screen sizes.

Or you can implement your pages with Layout Grids which makes it possible to create flexible layouts.

Thank you both for your replies, sorry for delay, holidays. I'll try using that tool, so thanks for the name and I'll see how that works.

Also thanks for info about breakpoints, I gave those a try but in both of your opinions. Seeing the actual website on desktop and then that mobile version. Should I use breakpoints or use that Jquery custom mobile tool with the redirect to make that mobile website like that second link that I posted? Thanks for help it's greatly appreciate. love using WYSIWYG but still a newbie when it comes to mobile.

Hello again, I think that I'll go with the breakpoints, only problem I noticed is when I view it on my phone, the 320 breakpoint. it still lets me scroll left and right, is there a way to disable that? Thanks! I really like the idea how it automatically switches and creating the website like this is very easy since it's still drag and drop which I love! Just need to figure out how to disable the left and right scrolling so they dont end up seeing all the other stuff, thanks in advance!

if you go to www.jimmytechtv.com on your phone you'll see what I mean, thanks again! very helpful!

That means that there is content outside the page boundaries. See the information about this in the FAQ:

Just a thought, why to design the website twice, one for desktop one for mobile.
Use WB to create one that works on all resolution or if you insist to use WP use some of its responsive templates that work both on desktop as well as mobile. Have a look at my website on desktop (link at the footer) as well as mobile to get the feel
