I am testing a cms for my client to edit their site called surreal cms which is dead simple to use and update the site however I notice any page that has a fontawesome image on it surreal cms displays it as chineese writing, not a big issue but just more of a curious question as to why this could possibly happen.

I'm sorry I am not familiar with surreal cms, so I think you will need to contact the makers of surreal cms to get an answer for this.

I fixed it by publishing my fontawesome images as svg instead of a font
