Directory of Designers / Developers / SEO Specialists / Theme Builders / Extension Builders etc. here

Post by Rob »

Got permission from Pablo to post this here...

Admin, what are your thoughts on having a comprehensive and regularly updated directory of members here who are professionals.

Name
website
specialty

Similar to the extension directory. Themes. Etc.

As members want to be added, they can comment #metoo and then be added to the initial post by the admin.

Thoughts? If not, I understand. Just a thought.

Just my 2 cents worth, but I like the idea. I think each designer brings their own creative element to the table. It would be an easy way to find out who creates templates, extensions, etc. or does full on design for those who want/need it.

BF - Is it an admin that should do this or since I brought it up, should I just do it? I don't mind but I don't have everyone's website address and I don't want to step on toes. Again the idea was to keep it updated on a regular basis as new designers say #metoo. Let me know what you want me to do with this idea. :D

It possibly could fall to a Admin that wants to take it on, but if you have the time and don't mind then make a suggestion to Pablo to add a "New" section to the forum for its use. You will need to think about what can be posted by whoever wishes to ie do you just allow as you wrote, do you allow comments questions to be placed/added or not by locking each thread so the only contact is via the posters site. What content can they post ie does there site contain content not suitable to be posted in the forum so not to cause issues for the forum or offense to users (adult, political, illegal content) in all its a good idea but needs some thinking on how to run/moderate.

As admins I'll let you guys discuss how you want it run but in considering your questions but not wanting to make it complicated perhaps let the admin control it - ie leave it locked and if someone wants to be added to the list they can send an email to the admin to have their name added - assuming they pass the test. That way it stays a bit cleaner than the wb extension index thread with all the comments and questions. With that being said, the email could also be used to have the admin post testimonials - maybe.

The idea was to give an additional marketing tool for those looking to make an income off helping other WB users (extensions, themes, custom code etc.). Let's hope toes aren't stepped on in the process.

If you want to send me an email via my website (signature) I can send a list of whom I think thus far to get things going. Thoughts?

Name - Website Address Link - Speciality

With the thread locked, the thread stays static except for admins updates and the only communication is the link to the persons website.

Thoughts? I hope this wont be too messy an idea.
