publish settings storage

Post by syncopic »

Hello Pablo,

maybe there is almost an answer to this question, but i can´t find it with the search function.

Please can you tell me, where the publish settings are stored ? I made two wbs-files for my customer (who bought a license), so he can fill some "actual sides" byself, but if i open the wbs-file on my test-pc, the publish settings are lost. So i think, the settings are not stored within the wbs-file ?

Thanks for help :)

They are stored in the file C:\Users\...\Documents\WYSIWYG Web Builder\system\publish.dat

Thank you WWBman !

I think, the .dat-file can be edited, so my customer only will have his own settings stored.

Thanks again :)

Why do you need to edit it?
Your customer's .dat file will be created when he Publishes the project.

I made 2 different wbs-files for my customer on my workstation (on which a lot of customer publish settings are stored).
If i would give my customer my .dat-file, he would have all the other settings
I´ve edited the .dat-file for my customer, so he only have his own settings stored. So we needn´t to set the settings again on his pc.
Now we only have to copy the edited file to his system and the right settings can be selected :D

Thanks again for support !

You wouldn't need to give the customer your .dat file.
The settings for the 2 projects would be specified and stored in the customer's .dat file when he first Publishes each project.
His .dat file would only contain details for those 2 projects.
Anyway, if it's working that's fine.
