Using Master Pages

Post by Starb7 »

Hi Pablo and all

Is it possible to use a Master Page in a responsive site, eg I have site that has around 30 pages but want a top and bottom header to be consistent and that changes from time to time so don't want to have having to change 30 odd pages each time.

I usually use the layout grid to create a site and don't seem to be able to incorporate the contents of a 'master page' made up if a grid into the main site pages.

If that's possible, do you have a demo project?

TIA

Yes, you can use a masterpage in a responsive website.
There is an example available here:

Hi Pablo

Struggling a bit... I have created a basic page, with a master page and can add that to the main page and all is fine. Now, on the main page, I want to add some 'Layout Grids' which I can do but but they overlap the top master page content. How do I place the first layout grid below the master page top content, ie into the body, etc? I can create a dummy layout grid (with padding etc) to sit on top the master page content so the next grid sits under that, is that the correct way to do it?

Cheers

Did you check out the example project in the tutorial?

If objects overlap then this usually means that you have mixed fixed and floating content.

I see the issue, 'Floating' and not 'Default' for the Page header doh!

Cheers again!
