Make (user) xtensions open source

Post by haakoo »

Hi all,

In respect to this thread viewtopic.php?f=42&t=52405
And the rapid development of frameworks and html5 it might be better to provide the working file with the extensions that are non paid and are mit/open source scripts.
This would make it possible to update ext. To be used in future versions.

Anyone ideas/comments?
Or maybe a poll?

I think most will know what I think of this, and I have to say no. Why? well why should I spend the time looking for scripts, the writing/emailing the author, then spend the time building the extension to only give it away. If any of my extensions require updated, then I will update them, if the script needs updated I will update it. I don't apologise, if this may sound rude, but if any extension needs updated and the builder is no longer active, then either you can take the time to rebuild it or find an alternative that is supported, but for me I do not wish to share other than the extension itself, d if it was made that I had to,then I would stop all support along with updates as well as building new extensions....just my 2 cents worth
