*** SOLVED *** disk full error msg

Post by bgearry »

When I try to "publish" I get this error message that the disk is full. I have plenty of space. Thought it might have something to do with "publish.log". I went and cleared out log, but made no difference. Any ideas? I don't know how to attach a screenshot to this request. Thank you, Bryan Gearry

Are you trying to publish to your PC? If you are trying to upload to a webserver did you confirm they are not having issues?

I don't know how to attach a screenshot to this request.
Either upload the screenshot to your own host and provide a url or use the following https://imgbb.com/

Maybe the location of the publish log is not accessible for the software?
For example, it may be blocked by your firewall or ransomware protection.

I guess there could be an issue, but it was working fine 3 days ago. I'm contemplating re-installing WYSIWYG. I don't know what else to do.

I seriously doubt that it has anything to do with the program. You could reinstall and still have the same issue. If it is a local (storage) I would try a clearing of the temp files and try again. You say it was fine 3 days ago was this local or server? If server then you will need to contact them if local try as I suggested. But again I doubt it is related to the software.

I have deleted all the data in the log, but that didn't seem to help. I looked for a publish.log on the server and did not find a file like that.

Did you clear the system temporary folder?

Yes, I cleaned the cache. All temp files are deleted.

Did you check the permissions of your firewall etc?
Something is not right in the configuration somewhere otherwise you would not get this (system) message.

Fixed one issue and now another one pops up. Got any ideas? Thanks, Bryan

Maybe the folder is blocked (no permissions) for the setup?

I'll explore that. The file is there. Obviously something is blocking it. thanks, Bryan

After spending 2 hours with Microsoft it was determined that Windows Defender does not play well with 18. The agent did some kind of scan and has set permissions so Defender should not have any more issues. Just wanted to let you know. Thanks for your support in helping out this issue. Bryan

Its not unusual to set permissions for many programs within security software, be it defender or another brand - its nothing detrimental about WWB, more the security being ultra cautious which, while it can be a pain, isn't a bad thing.
