I've been using Hostinger for a while now and have had no issues with them.

Have used Hostgator for over 10 years. Currenlty have a reseller account with about 40 sites, each with their own cpanel. Needed support assistance couple days ago and resolved in about 20 minutes via chat. They also have people that answer the phone. They are not a good as before they were bought out but still would give them an 8 or 9 out of 10.

I just moved a customer website from their GoDaddy hosting to my reseller, not about money but ease of support. I found trying to do general stuff on GoDaddy much harder and more frustrating.

If you don't need cPanel I suggest looking at hosting without cPanel. cPanel prices can go up with the hoster and they could raise prices. Maybe read about this DirectAdmin in terms of cost efficiency instead.
