Let's talk about web browsers

how many of you use Mozilla Firefox and for what reason compared to others chromium-based browsers such as Brave, Microsoft edge, Vivaldi, chrome and others.

I use FF because I'm used to it, I like it and, more importantly (!), I really don't like Edge or Google Chrome. Can't really say any more than that.

In general, I use chromium-based browsers. Mostly in workplaces people have no choice but to use selective browsers which their company wants them to work with or find it featureful or flexible. So, in that case I am not against any browser unless they are against the users for some reason.

I have used chrome, mozilla firefox, yandex, opera and so many other browsers. But everyone knows that most browsers are chromium based other than Firefox which is based on its own engine Gecko. Then we have apples safari browser. So, in terms how these browsers support certain css and other feature support is a question because the updates come so late.

As you have mentioned Mozilla, I did find a latest news about it where Zorin OS 17.3 has officially replaced Firefox with Brave Browser as its default web browser. The developers made this change due to concerns over Mozilla's recent policy updates, which they felt no longer aligned with their commitment to user privacy

I remember recently that Mozilla (if I recall correctly) stated they 'need to work with Google to survive' and they no longer use "Don't be evil" as their mission.

I use Firefox, but I believe in Karma, also digital, if Firefox becomes bad they might attract potential fines.

Same people switching from WhatsApp to Signal. It's all nice and comfy but when the audience gets big enough the monetary aspect may be lurking again.

Well, it is about people using their own preference but in terms of use I would still say since Chrome, Edge, Brave, Opera, and Vivaldi all use Blink, updates to the engine benefit multiple browsers at once. This creates a collaborative ecosystem where improvements roll out quickly. So, Firefox won't die but it will age with its users until it loses its tail somehow. I'm moving back to Vivaldi as it supports Tampermonkey better than Firefox (I get errors with a script in FF)

I can configure it exactly how I like especially the ability to show the Bookmarks when I move the cursor to the left hand edge of the screen.
I haven't as yet found another browser that does that.

I use Opera GX the most (hence the fact it's a browser for gamers) but i'm not a gamer. Other browsers are Chome, Edge and Firefox

Just started posting there again, having finally switched from Serif PagePlus to Affinity Publisher. I've been a Serif user (and beta tester for several years when they were closed affairs) since 1991.

I have been a user since 1993 (PP) and I use the trio on daily basis for work and at home and WWB for web stuff.

Sorry - very OT now!

I used to use WebPlus, but because they stopped developing it and it does not natively support responsive layouts, I switched to WWB in December last year.

Having been on the beta team for so long, I know how hard the small Serif team works, so I won't hear anything against them. Just sayin' ...

I also know (and appreciate very much) how hard Pablo works at this: it's expecially impressive that it's only a hobby for him.

Anway, we must not digress any longer.
