Permanent hamburger menu in responsive layout grid site without brakepoints - help

Post by Bedmen »

Hi,

So, I used to build non-responsive websites via wysiwyg. No problems.. at least, I could overcome them. Now I build a fully responsive website using only layout grids. So I dont need to to use any breakpoints.

I'm currently at the end of my rope after trying to build a hamburger menu for about zeven full days of time and can not ever get any menu to work. Also I just dont seem to be able to find a proper tutorial on youtube or anywhere really talking me step by step. My menu just needs to look like this:

-On the right site on top. Opens with drop down but only needs to show Home and the rest of my pages. (nothing in between)
-When the menu unfolds the alignment of the dropdownmenu needs to be to the left side so the words are visible on mobile device, it has to be need.
-The background of that menu needs to just work.., everything ive tried so far gives some kind of a big problem.

I am just lost and overwelmed by the number of options. So far the only "menu" that was ever succesfull is a a little home button I made without any further navigation. Video tutorials are allways either about layout grid design including brakepoints, or they go through the menu issues so fast or pre-build it so it is impossible to replicate.

There is one menu I found from template, I love it. https://wysiwygwebbuilder.com/support/w ... tpage.html I tried copying it to my own site but this is a really complex menu item and it is outside of the boarder and uses code. I get it to work on my computer but on my phone its horrible.
In any case I really want to use a menu that I can just put in my masterframe and does not use any brakepoint because the site is designed that way. Is that even possible?

This is my website: https://inkennis.nl/

Who can help me out please?

Thanks a lot in advance.. I would love have to a proper menu and finish the rest of the site as things are actually starting to look really nice!

Did you try the panel menu?
or if you want more control then you can also use the panel layer, like in the template.

Besides that, there are many other hamburger menus available:
https://wysiwygwebbuilder.com/extensions.html

Many templates use a hamburger menu, so maybe one of the examples may help you further:
https://wysiwygwebbuilder.com/templates2022.html

If you need further assistance then please prepare a DEMO project (with the menu) and describe what goes wrong.

To be able to help you, I need a DEMO project (.wbs file) so I can see all your settings.

I do not need the complete project because that will only take more time to figure out what you have done.
Basically, I just need a small project with one page and object(s) that are relevant to your question.

Note that I cannot see what you have done based on the published page (HTML), because the software has thousands of options and millions of possible combinations.
So, there is no way to know which options you have used by looking at the HTML only.

For further details about how to share a project file, please see this FAQ:

My template has a menu that turns into a hamburger menu when the size reduces. It uses flex grids and has no breakpoints - and has a master page.

Feel free to copy it and modify/extract bits to suit your site. You can find it here https://www.wysiwygwebbuilder.com/forum ... hp?t=93336

Ask questions here and I'll try and answer.
