Responsive fonts

Post by skanaba »

Hi, We recently installed WB 18 and find the responsive fonts confusing. When we add or modify text on existing websites created with earlier versions of WB, we now have to separate bolded headlines from body text and apply styles to retain text layouts. However, when we look at different screen sizes online, the fonts change size. If you go to this site as an example: https://www.tennesseetowtruckassociation.com/ the full screen version looks ok online. But when we shrink the browser down to 768, or 320 the font changes size. This did not happen with earlier WB builders. We used to have the option of "turning on" responsive fonts and now, that option is gone (unless I am not finding it). If you need to examine the WB file, here is the path: https://www.tennesseetowtruckassociatio ... -01-23.wbs Am I doing something wrong? Please advise. Thank you.

First note that responsive text object does not effect your existing text. It's for new text only.
But maybe you have enabled the option 'Automatically scale new objects in other breakpoints'?
Although, this is not an new option but it will scale the font-size in breakpoints.

If you need help the please create a DEMO project with only content that is relevant to your question, so it's immediately clear where I need to look to see the issue.

Hi Pablo, thanks for looking at the site. Hopefully, the following images will tell you what is going on. Screen shot 1- showing that scale at brreakpoints is off: https://tennesseetowtruckassociation.co ... le-OFF.jpg
Here, the page is viewed at 1366 width (the default): https://tennesseetowtruckassociation.co ... FontOK.jpg - and the font looks good; what we want to see on the other breakpoints.
Here, the page is viewed at 768: https://tennesseetowtruckassociation.co ... NOT-OK.jpg - the font is smaller, then some of the other lines of text on the right are the Arial 12 size. Why the mixed sizes?
Lastly, the page is viewed at 340: https://tennesseetowtruckassociation.co ... NOT-OK.jpg
Pablo, just trying to figure out why the font sizes are changing when in the editor I have sized all of the breakpoints to the same size, Arial 12 Bold or regular.
Thank you, Steve

I'm sorry, but I need more information.

To be able to help you, I need a DEMO project (.wbs file) so I can see all your settings.

I do not need the complete project because that will only take more time to figure out what you have done.
Basically, I just need a small project with one page and object(s) that are relevant to your question.

I'm sorry, but I was asking for a DEMO project, not the full project.
There are too many pages in the project so I do not know where to look.

Basically, all I need is a simple project with 1 page and 1 object, so it's immediately clear what you have done.

Hi Pablo,
I have the solution. I was using ...insert Responsive Text rather than using the insert Text tool. Sorry for any inconvenience.
