***SOLVED***PNG files do not display over the Internet

Post by IvanMJ »

I am using Web Builder Version 17.1.3

Up until this morning, my PNG and JPG images display in preview mode while developing, when using a browser on the output files from my hard drive, and they display over the Internet - all as expected.

However, I have just come across a weird glitch. There are two PNG files in my draft website which display in preview mode, display when using a browser on the output files from my hard drive - Mozilla Firefox, Safari, Google Chrome - but do not display over the Internet using the same browsers. The other PNG files in the website do display over the Internet.

I am developing my new website from a draft folder on my host server so that members of SCAN can provide feedback during development.

The page with the problem has the title "The Problem" because this page addresses a Climate Change problem:

The two PNG files are 176 KB and 109 KB in size and have the names "Planetary Boundaries (Rockström et al. 2009).png" and "Overshooting Earth’s Carrying Capacity.png" Other PNG files with spaces between words display OK, but these two png files do not.

Any ideas as to the cause of the problem?

The naming of the images are invalid they should not have any spaces or have special characters or use brackets
in them.

Thank you for your advice. Much appreciated. Problem solved.

Having spaces in the file names wasn't a problem. Nonetheless, I have now modified the file names of all images to be absolutely Internet safe.

Kind regards

Ivan
