Menu Vanish

I'm having more problem I can't figure out. On my index page in the header my menu looks fine in the software but in the preview it's missing and if I publish it and look the is some code gibberish piled up on the left. I have never run into so many problems or issues I could not figure out with any other software before this.

You have enabled the option 'Use this menu for CMS'. This will only work in combination with the CMS tools.
Please uncheck this option.
